Best Pizza in Madison, WI

Pizza Brutta

1805 Monroe St, Madison, WI 53711
11am-8pm, daily

On the corner of Monroe and Grant is Pizza Brutta. With eight-hundred-degree wood-burning ovens, employees have one goal: to make the most fantastic Neapolitan pizza that simultaneously establishes the local food structure. This is not a five-dollar hot-n-ready that was made hours ago; this is an artisan pizza made by professionals with a love for cooking from the ground up.

Salvatore’s Tomato Pies

912 E Johnson St, Madison, WI 53703
Mon Closed
Tues-Sun 4pm-9pm

Salvatore’s is one-in-its-own. They don’t make pizza, they make tomato pies, and not all of them even use tomato. With Prosciutto and uncured pepperoni, these aren’t your standard pizzas. Salvatore’s offers vegan mozzarella and even vegan Italian sausage. They are not limited to pizza, though. Skip the pie and buy chicken wings, calamari, Bolognese, or rigatoni! Ask about gluten, dairy, and egg-free crusts purchased from Schroeter’s Bakery hailing from Milwaukee.

Grampa’s Pizzeria

1374 Williamson St, Madison, WI 53703
Sun & Mon Closed
Tues-Sat 4pm-8pm

If you’re looking for cheese or pepperoni, don’t waste your time, this isn’t what you’re looking for. If you want artisan thin crust pizza with family heirloom recipes, then Grampa’s is the place to stop in. Gilbert Altschul, the owner of Grampa’s, offers delectable hors d’oeuvres, including confit pork a delicious beet salad. Ever had brussels and bacon topped with fresh mozzarella, olive oil, garlic, and grana? Me neither, but I’m fiending to get to Grampa’s and try their Brassacre.

101 King St, Madison, WI 53703
Mon-Weds 3pm-10pm
Thurs, Fri, & Sun 11am-2pm, 3pm-10pm
Sat 11am-2pm, 3pm-12am

Wood-fire pizza, black-steel pan pizza, and even Pan-Latin food. Happy Hour from 3pm-5pm and brunch 9am-2pm on the weekends. This is not a hole-in-the-wall; this is a three-story monster with online ordering, curbside pickup, and doorstep delivery. Sip on a craft cocktail while the kitchen staff prepares your one-of-a-kind pizza. Outdoor patio? That’s cute. Reserve a fire pit during summer or winter, and revel in the warmth of a hot toddy and the full kitchen menu.
